At Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge, the rooms have been designed to cater for guests’ exclusivity and comfort, while blending in the surrounding natural environment. There are very nice views of the nearby Bwindi Impenetrable forest and agricultural fields of the community on the opposite hill, which you can enjoy while at your balcony.
All cottages have en-suite bathroom facilities, with hot water, and guests are assured of privacy, breath taking views and a number of bird species to spot right from there. This is quite captivating and eye catching.

Children Rates:
- Children below 5 years of age are accommodated free of charge.
- Children from the age of 6 to 14 pay 50% of the adult rate if sharing with parents
- Children aged 15 and over will be charged at adult rates.
- Babysitting services are available at the lodge at low extra cost.
Transfer Costs (Land Cruiser / Van):
- Kisoro Airstrip to/from the lodge – $200
- Transfer for Gorilla trekking/habituation in Rushaga – $100
- Transfer for Gorilla trekking in Nkuringo – $150
Special Requests:
- Birthday cakes are provided at a Standard charge of USD 20 with entertainment from the staff
- For honeymooners, a complementary basket of fruits is provided and two glasses of wine for each couple if notified in time.
Terms and Conditions
- For bookings to be confirmed, a deposit of 30% is required which is non-refundable.
- All bookings must be fully paid 14 days prior to the arrival of the clients at lodge. Any booking not paid for in that time period will automatically be cancelled.
- The full board arrangement includes – breakfast, lunch and dinner plus a bottled water in the rooms but does not include soft drinks, alcoholic drinks or any item that is not on the day’s menu.
- The rates are subject to change any time and are based on availability of the rooms.
- Prices are inclusive of the 18% VAT but exclusive of Gorilla permits or any other fees.
Cancellation
Reservations that are cancelled prior arrival, reduced in number of days or rooms and no shows are subjected to the following terms:
- 25% of the total price for cancellations between 21 and 30 days before arrival
- 50% of the total price for cancellations between 14 and 21 days before arrival
- 75% of the total price for cancellations between 7 and 14 days before arrival
- 100% of the total price for cancellations between 4 and 7 days before arrival

Wifi in the room, Large clean room
Stayed in the Warbler room. Great room with balcony and view. Only place we got wifi in the rooms. Friendly staff, close to Bwindi National Park for Silverback Gorillas.
Beautiful place with great service
We really enjoyed our stay! Great service and friendly staff in a peaceful location. With beautiful rooms. Only 5 minutes from where gorilla tracking starts in Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest.
One of the best places we stayed at in Uganda
This place is lovely and the service is first class. There were some really lovely touches, such as cleaning our boots after we got back from the gorilla trek, and providing a hot water bottle at night.
Excellent place for Gorilla tracking expedition
It was the most calming and relaxing experience after coming all the way from Rwanda. Staff were very friendly and hospitality was excellent. They provided hot water bags to every guest as it is much required after the rigorous trek through the forest for Gorilla Tracking.
Fantastic stay at the base of the gorilla mountain
My wife and I stayed here for a couple days while we did a trek to see the gorilla family. We had a very friendly and attentive team who looked after us. We would highly recommend staying here for your gorilla trek. Best hospitality in Africa!
Gem in the Jungle!
We stayed for four nights at this lovely lodge, we arrived at nearly midnight after a long journey from our home to cheerful, friendly and helpful staff, including been served a four course dinner. The staff, rooms, food and service were excellent and nothing, but nothing was a problem.
Fabulous! Amazing Hosts!
We had booked this fine establishment ahead of time together with permits for the Gorilla Tracking. It ain’t cheap yet we enjoyed every minute staying here. The two Guest managers Rona & Maureen create a wonderful atmosphere.
Amazing service, comfortable and beautiful views
We stayed for two nights - service was amazing from arrival to departure, the staff are happy to help you with all requests and even our trekking boots were washed after a day of gorilla trekking!
Fantastic Lodge and Very friendly Staff
We stayed for 2 nights at the Lodge. Arrived late at the first night due to delays at Kigali airport. The staff and Chef waited patiently for us and prepared a delicious meal. Lodge is very clean and close to the forest gate.
